Bonds and Clemens to Court

Both
were pillars of the baseball for much of their career.

Now they are about to go to trial.

Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens, the main stars allegedly involved in steroid use, face the jury at opposite ends of the country. "They are almost evenly matched, " said sportscaster Bob Costas.

"Seven Most Valuable Player awards (Bonds), against seven Cy Young awards (Clemens). The best pitcher and probably the better player. "

Bonds go to trial starting March 21 in federal district court in San Francisco, on four counts of making false statements to a grand jury and one count of obstruction of justice. Clemens touches appear in federal court in Washington, DC, from July 6, for three counts of making false statements, two of perjury and one count of obstruction of the work of Congress.

Although the commissioner Bud Selig, would leave behind the issue of steroid use in baseball, this sport can not be detached from the shadows until the completion of trials of Bonds and Clemens.
