Woods Out of Top 10

Tiger Woods is about to run out of the top 10 world golf rankings for the first time in 14 years.

Woods, whose last victory came 18 months ago in the Masters in Australia, will fall at least at number 11 in the next world rankings will be released Monday.

It is the first time that Woods is out of the top 10 since he took the box 13 on April 6, 1997, a week before he won the first of his 14 Masters tournaments.

Forbes, meanwhile, said that Woods is still No. 1 celebrity in U.S. sports Woods reached No. 6 on the annual list published by Forbes celebrity. "Celebrity 100" is a listing of individuals or groups greater scope in the entertainment business.

Lady Gaga is the number one, followed by Oprah Winfrey, Justin Bieber, U2 and Elton John.

LeBron James, Miami Heat, is the second among athletes, behind Woods, (10). Kobe Bryant of the Lakers, is 14.

Woods fined for spitting

Tiger Woods was fined on Monday for the PGA tour of Europe after being surprised when spat during the last round in Dubai.

The incident occurred Sunday in the green of hole 12, after the U.S. golfer missed a putt for par.

"Tournament director Mike Stewart, reviewed the incident and found to be quebratnó code of conduct for this tour and Tiger Woods will be fined, " said European tour in a statement.

Not reported the amount of the fine.

The Tour Code of Conduct states that when a player is part of it is "voluntarily agree to standards of conduct and ethics that go beyond what is required the rest of the golfers and the public. "

Woods began the day on Sunday to blow the lead, but could not recover after a couple of bogeys in the first three holes.

Golf Champion Woods Treated with Cortisone

 

Golf champion Tiger Woods received 10 days ago  a cortisone shot in his right ankle to relieve persistent pain.

On Tuesday, he was back hitting balls and filming a commercial.

Mark Steinberg, his agent at the firm IMG, Woods said he planned to have the injection after the Chevron World Challenge Championship, which ended on 5 December. The golfer has nearly two months off before their next tournament at Torrey Pines.

"That was always the plan, " said Steinberg. "He wants 2011 to be a big year for him,"he said.

Woods said at the Masters this year he broke his Achilles tendon in his right leg in December 2008, when he was recovering from knee surgery. Steinberg said the injury still causes him pain, causing it received a cortisone injection, AP reported.

Steinberg said the rumors that Woods had broken his Achilles tendon while skiing. He said Tiger was not skiing for over three years.

Woods was the first time in his career that does not win any tournaments. After 281 weeks as world number one Tiger gave the British Lee Westwood lead, thus ending the longest reign in the history of the sport. Tiger Woods had risen to number one golf world rankings on 22 May 2005.
